Checking Total Column Flow
To check column flow using a 10-port sample valve and an 8-port selector valve, perform the
following steps (other valve configurations use similar procedures):
1. Turn all valves off as described in the previous paragraph.
2. See Figure 2-6. To check total column flow, set Valves One and Two to ON.
3. Connect the flow-measuring device to the CELL VENT of the detector cell and measure the flow
rate. The total column flow should be as specified in the Data Package. s If necessary, adjust the
COLUMN PRESSURE regulator to obtain the specified flow rate.
