Pull down the retaining rods until the faulty IGCT is free.

Remove the isolator disk and the diode above the IGCT.

Pull out the faulty IGCT.

In case the new IGCT is not fitted with retaining clamps and guides
(see
Figure 10-6) remove these parts from the faulty IGCT and mount
them on the new IGCT.
