Rogue Detection Requirements
471
automatically selects individual radios to send the countermeasure
packets.
You can issue countermeasures against specific devices. In this case, MSS
attacks only those devices.
Rogue Detection
Requirements
Rogue detection in 3WXM has the following requirements.
Mobility Domain
RF detection and countermeasures are managed by the Mobility Domain’s
seed switch, and apply throughout the Mobility Domain. To use RF
detection, you must configure a seed switch and configure the other
switches as Mobility Domain members.
SNMP Traps
The following SNMP traps must be enabled on the Mobility Domain’s
seed switch:
■
RogueDetect
■
RFDetectRogueDisappear
■
CounterMeasureStart
■
CounterMeasureStop
The first two traps provide data about rogues when they are detected or
disappear. The latter two traps provide data for countermeasures.
Monitoring Service
Rogue detection data are available only for WX switches that are being
monitored by the monitoring service. Verify that the following conditions
are true:
■
The WX switches in the Mobility Domain are listed on the Monitored
WXs tab of the monitoring service, and the SNMP traps listed in
“SNMP Traps” are enabled on the switches.
■
The monitoring service is in the Mobility Domain seed switch’s list of
SNMP trap receivers.
■
The
Enable Rogue Detection
option is enabled on the Monitoring
Settings tab. This option enables the monitoring service to collect
rogue data from the RogueDetect and RFDetectRogueDisappear traps
sent by the Mobility Domain’s seed switch.
