Using the Command Line Interface
snmp-server enable server
This command enables SNMP management access and also enables this device to
send SNMP traps (i.e., notifications). Use the
no form to disable SNMP service and
trap messages.

snmp-server enable server
no snmp-server enable server

Command Usage
• This command enables both authentication failure notifications and
link-up-down notifications.
• The snmp-server host command specifies the host device that will
receive SNMP notifications.

This command specifies the recipient of an SNMP notification. Use the no form to
remove the specified host.
Syntax
snmp-server host < 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 > < host_ip_address | host_name >
<community-string>
no snmp-server host
• 1 - First SNMP host.
• 2 - Second SNMP host.
• 3 - Third SNMP host.
• 4 - Fourth SNMP host.
• host_ip_address - IP of the host (the targeted recipient).
