Wireless LAN Setup

This chapter covers how to configure wireless LAN settings in SMT menu 3.5.

26.1 Wireless LAN Overview

Refer to the chapter on the wireless LAN screens for wireless LAN background information.

26.2 Wireless LAN Setup

Use menu 3.5 to set up your Prestige as the wireless access point. To edit menu 3.5, enter 3 from the
main menu to display

[ENTER]

to display

The following table describes the fields in this menu.

ESSID

The ESSID (Extended Service Set IDentifier) identifies the AP to which the
wireless stations associate. Wireless stations associating to the Access Point
must have the same ESSID. Enter a descriptive name of up to 32 printable 7-bit
ASCII characters.

to hide the ESSID in the outgoing beacon

frame so a station cannot obtain the ESSID through passive scanning.

Press [SPACE BAR] to select a channel. This allows you to set the operating
