Table 8-2 List Packet Statistics: Outgoing

FIELD

DESCRIPTION

OutDiscards

This is the number of outbound packets that were (chosen to be) discarded even though no
errors had been detected to prevent their being transmitted. One reason for discarding such a
packet could be to free up buffer space.

OutErrors

This is the number of outbound packets that could not be transmitted because of errors.

FIELD

DESCRIPTION

InOctets

This is the total number of octets received on the interface, including framing characters.

OutOctets

This is the total number of octets transmitted out of the interface, including framing characters.

ErrorsPercent

This is the amount of errors as a percentage of total frames.

Utilization

This is the utilization of the ports.
