Chapter 1 Overview
1.6.2 Calling the MCU
The multipoint control unit ( MCU ) indicates the multimedia video server, such as ZXV10
M900 and ZXV10 M9000.
Terminal calling MCU can create a new conference or join in a scheduled conference on
the MCU manually. The local terminal acts as one of the conference members.
Call the MCU to join in a conference in any of the following circumstances:
l
For a conference scheduled on the MCU, the members can call the MCU to join in the
conference 10 minutes before the conference starts.
l
For a conference being started on the MCU, the local terminal can call the MCU to
join in the conference if it is disconnected due to a network fault.
l For a conference being started on the MCU, the local terminal can call the MCU to
join in the conference as a new conference member.
Prerequisite
l
The local terminal is idle and the network connection is normal.
l
The user name and password are needed for logging in to the MCU.
l
The conference No. and password are needed to join in a started conference.
l
If you want to call the conference No. directly, the H.323 should have been
successfully registered.
Steps
1. Press the call or Menu key on the remote control. The main menu screen is displayed,
see Figure 1-2 .
2. (Optional) Select Call Option . Set Type , Rate , and Password by referring to the
following table.
Parameter Description
Type Indicates the call type. The option includes H.323 and SIP .
Rate Indicates the call rate. It is not less than the rate defined in the conference
template.
Password Indicates the password that needs to be entered by the administrator or
conference booker.
When the call type is SIP and the SIP working mode is IMS_SIP, the
password is required.
3. Set Address . The value can be:
l Special service number of the conference, for example, 198
l IP address of the MCU
l
MCU number
l
