Correct installation of child restraint system
Child restraint system is usually installed in three ways: three-point
belt, ISOFIX system and LATCH system. The three-point belt pulls
and tightens the child restraint system, as described in “Classification
of child restraint system”; ISOFIX system and LATCH system secure
the child restraint system via the fastening device and reserved
anchor.
ISOFIX system is similar to LATCH system in terms of fastening of
child restraint system; however, LATCH has an additional upper
anchor and the lower anchors can be shared. The two rear rows are
provided with LATCH, so the vehicle can be either equipped with
child restraint system of LATCH or child restraint system of ISOFIX.
1. Place the child restraint system on rear row seat and insert the
guide slot into the lower anchor in the gap between backrest and
cushion till you hear clicking sound.
2. Lift the rear row seat headrest to the maximum position, thread
the belt through the pillar of headrest and hook to the anchor.
Ensure the belt is not twisted.
3. Tighten the fastening belt. Shake the child restraint system
forward/backward and to the left and right to ensure it is firmly
secured.
