CAUTION
Do not remove power or press the
RESET
button while the Model 25 is loading the
memory, otherwise incorrect information could be loaded requiring reprogramming.
Once the Model 25 completes the loading procedure, it will return to the first question in the
two-tone programming section, “Question “bo”” on page 69. You may select another leading
digit to format or press
RESET
to exit the programming mode back to the idle state.
Alert Tone Format
The Alert Tone format provides a means for adding various alert tones to your calls. In
addition to the beep-tone alert (which you can configure to some extent), four fixed alerts are
provided. The alerts are handled in much the same way as the various formats. Once the
Alert Tone format is assigned to a leading digit, it is possible to assign it to an Instant Call
button the same as any paging format call, or it may be manually entered from the keypad.
One other feature provided by the alert tone format is the ability to create a “delay” within
the Instant Call button stack. During the delay, the PTT (Push-to-talk) relay will open and the
result is a delay without activity. The duration of the delay is set by the value entered for
“Question 5”.
The valid alert tone digits are:
0 = Beeps Alert
1 = Slow Siren Alert
2 = Fast Siren Alert
3 = HI/LOW Warble Alert
4 = Ramp Alert
D = Delay
If the leading digit “A” was assigned the Alert tone format, you would assign the following
sequences to instant call keys in order to produce the various alerts (or enter the same
characters from the keypad to manually initiate the same alerts).
A0 = makes a beeps alert
A1 = makes a slow siren alert
A2 = makes a fast siren alert
... and so on ....
Question 1 - Channel Select Relays
This question works the same way for most paging formats. Please see “Question 1 - Channel
Select Relays” on page 72 for a description.
