Serial Programming Command List

The operation of the encoder from a remote control device is nearly identical to the operation
from the encoder’s keypad/display except for a few changes and added commands as
described in Table 29.

Escape Key

Press the

ESC

key on the PC keyboard to exit the Configuration Program.

F1 Function Key - Printer

The

F1

function key turns the printing function ON and OFF. Each time the key is pressed, it

will toggle to the opposite setting.

If this feature is set to the ON position, all information that appears on the screen will also be
sent to the printer (this only applies to a printer physically connected to the parallel printer
port of the PC). This feature should be used to generate a printout of your current Model 25
configuration.

F2 Function Key - File

The

F2

function key turns the “Disk File” ON and OFF.

The “Disk File” is a special text file that is opened by the Configuration Program for storing
text information. Once this feature is turned on, all information that appears on the screen
will be sent to this file until it is turned off or the Configuration Program is exited.

This feature is useful for storing the configuration text information sent by the Model 25 to
the Configuration Program Edit Screen.
