Model 16 Command String Modifiers

When entering text for the modem command strings, these characters are
given special treatment as described below:

sends <CR> carriage return. All commands should end with !

sends a single ! without <CR>.

sends nothing but causes a 500 msec delay.

sends nothing but the causes the next character to be sent
as a control character (subtract 65 decimal).
