One kind of pager ID that the Model 16 accepts is simply the User number.
It is makes Entry Station name directory programming simple because the
User database is already stored in the Model 16. All validations,
substitutions, and special pager attributes can be updated to the
individual User in the Paging Terminal without the need to reprogram
information in the Entry Stations, of which there may be many in a paging
system. This type of pager ID requires the user database option.
The other kind allows a Full Capcode page. This pager ID is versatile
enough to allow signaling to any pager, even if it is not programmed into
the Terminal User database. However, it requires a 12-digit number that
must be changed whenever a subscriber gets a new pager or type of service.
Some Entry Stations may not support a 12-digit pager ID.
Enter the pager ID to the Entry Station as follows:

"xxxx" is a 1- to 4-digit number within
the call capacity of the Paging
Terminal. It corresponds to a User
number. This type of pager ID requires
the user database option.

В is a digit 0-7 that references a
Paging Format programmed into the
Terminal.
"xxxxxxx" is a seven-digit pager capcode
(the actual capcode stamped on the
pager). Use leading zeros if the
capcode is not seven digits.
F is a digit 0-9 that is the pager
function code.
A is 0 if the message is numeric data, A
is 1 if the message is alphanumeric.
P is 0 if this page is batched normally,
P is 1 if this is a priority page.
T is a digit 0-3 that references a Talk
time programmed into the Terminal. Note:
Talk time is not given for dial up Entry
Station transactions.
