SECTION 4A - SYSTEM PROGRAMMING
Example: we wish to signal pagers that use the POCSAG format at the
standard transmission speed and none of them may receive a message in
excess of 200 characters.
Format number (0-7, CR to exit) ? 3
Format type (0-7)
0
Max msg length ( 0 - 500 ) 200
Baud: (0) 512 (1) 1200 0 512
The choice of Format #3 was arbitrary. When we program the Users, each
one that corresponds to these parameters will be assigned Format 3.
Station ID (I)
As each parameter is programmed the current setting is displayed.
Press CR to keep the current setting, or input a new one.
Station ID
■ Morse code ID enable: initial setting is "Disabled" ■
When enabled, the terminal will automatically transmit the Station
Call Sign. It is sent whenever the Interval time has expired but only
after a page.
If Station ID is "Enabled"...
Interval (15 or 30 minutes)
Enter ' 15 <CR>
'
for 15-minute intervals.
Enter ' 30 <CR>
'
for 30-minute intervals.
Call sign (to 8 chars)
The Call Sign may consist of 0 to 8 letters or numbers. No punctuation
will be sent. If no Call Sign is entered, Station ID will not occur
even if it is Enabled.
Transmitter (X)
As each parameter is programmed the current setting is displayed.
Press CR to keep the current setting, or input a new one.
Channel busy
■ COR input polarity: initial setting is "Pos" ■
Program this value to match the sense of the COR/Channel Busy signal
provided by the transmitter. It is used to indicate when the radio
channel is in use, thereby inhibiting the Model 16 from keying PTT.
If not used, leave the input unconnected and program to "Pos".
