5.4 Removing the airlock rod
When you do not wish to transfer specimens from the specimen chamber of the FESEM, you can
remove the airlock rod from the airlock.

Retract the airlock rod.

Change to
Vent
mode.

Open the airlock.

Remove the sample holder.

Remove the airlock rod:

Slightly turn the silver plug (

) counter-
clockwise

Remove the airlock rod.

Put the airlock rod onto the rack for storage.

Seal the orifice in the airlock window with
the blind plug.
