Franklin pumps, have an absorber pump and a gen-
erator pump in place of the solution pump.
5. The stabilizer refrigerant solenoid valve can be manu-
ally operated in SERVICE mode only if “Manual Sole-
noid Control” is selected using a special procedure
found in “Service” manual, Form 155.16-M3. This
should only be performed by a qualified service tech-
nician. If manual control is selected, the valve will not
respond to any automatic control, unless the “Auto-
matic Decrystallization Routine” becomes active.
When the “Automatic Decrystallization Routine” be-
comes active, the valve reverts to AUTOMATIC con-
trol for as long as the “Automatic Decrystallization
Routine” is active; then reverts to MANUAL control if
manual control is still selected. Upon exit from SER-
VICE mode, the valve automatically reverts to AU-
TOMATIC mode.
6. If the unit is equipped with Buffalo pumps (EPROM
version A.02F.02 or later; Micro Board program
jumper JP2 in), manual operation of the Refrigerant
pump is inhibited until refrigerant level float switches
1F and 3F are closed.

Refrigerant Level Solenoid Valve (referred to as Refrig-
erant Level Unloader Solenoid Valve in EPROM version
A.02F.01 or earlier) when “Manual Solenoid Control” has
been selected with the MANUAL PUMP key. Instruc-
tions for selection of Manual Solenoid Control are con-
tained in the Control Center “Service” manual, Form
155.16-M3 under “Special Setpoints and Programming
Procedures” section. Manual Solenoid Control should
only be selected by a qualified technician.
EPROM version A.02F.01 and earlier:

GENERATOR SHELL PRESSURE = XX.XX%
AUTO DECRYSTALLIZATION TEMP = XXX.X°F
REFRIGERANT LEVEL FLOAT SWITCH – CLOSED
c. Press and release the MANUAL PUMP key. The
displayed message will change from
< FUNCTION > – OFF
to
< FUNCTION > – ON
or vice versa.
If selected function cannot be turned on or off, a

NOTES:
1. The purge pump can be operated in LOCAL, RE-
MOTE or SERVICE mode. It will operate if the unit is
running or not running. It will turn off only when manu-
ally turned off.
CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY, DO
NOT OPERATE THE PUMP WITH THE BELT GUARD
REMOVED!
2. This pump can be manually operated if (a) the Con-
trol Center is in SERVICE mode and (b) the UNIT
switch is in STOP/RESET and (c) no dilution cycle is
in progress. (If the unit is equipped with Franklin
pumps, the refrigerant, solution and generator pumps
are not allowed to run if the motor coolant float switch
(2F) is open.) Anytime the pump is turned on, it will
remain on until (a) it is manually turned off or (b) 2
hours have elapsed or (c) the UNIT switch is moved
from STOP/RESET position to RUN position.
3. A manual dilution cycle can be initiated only if the
following conditions are satisfied:
(A). the Control Center is in SERVICE mode
(B). the UNIT SWITCH is in STOP/RESET position
(C). the unit is not presently performing a dilution
cycle
(D). the refrigerant level float switch is closed
(E). the refrigerant temperature is greater than 34°F
(F). the solution (absorber and generator pumps on
50 Hz Models YIA-10E3 – YIA-14F3 with Frank-
lin pumps) and refrigerant pump overloads or
thermal switches are closed
(G). the low refrigerant temperature cutout switch
(LRT) is not tripped
When the dilution cycle is manually initiated, it will auto-
matically terminate when the cycle is complete. It can
be stopped at any time during the cycle by pressing the
MANUAL PUMP key.
