Connecting the GP-IB Cable
GP-IB Cable
The GP-IB connector of the instrument is a 24-pin
connector conforming to the IEEE 488-1978 Standard.
Use a GP-IB cable that meets the IEEE 488-1978
standard.

Connect the cable as shown below.

Points to Note When Connecting a Probe
• Firmly tighten the screws on the GP-IB cable’s
connector.
• Multiple devices can be connected to a single GP-IB
system. However, no more than fifteen devices
(including the controller) can be connected to a
single system.
• When multiple devices are connected, they cannot
share the same address.
• Use a cable of two meters or less in length between
devices.
• The total length of all cables used should not
exceed twenty meters.
• When communicating, have at least two-thirds of
the devices turned ON.
• When connecting multiple devices, use a star or
linear configuration as shown in the figure below.
Do not wire them in a loop or parallel configuration.
