2.7 Connecting the DC Power Supply
WARNING
• Turn off the device under measurement and disconnect the measurement leads before
connecting or disconnecting the DC power cable.
• Before using the DC power cable, make sure that the power supply voltage matches the
instrument’s rated supply voltage. Then, connect the DC power cable.
• Only use the DC power cable for the instrument.
• Do not use the DC power cable with a loose tip cap. A short-circuit can cause smoke or fire.
• There is no fuse in the DC power cable. Take appropriate protective measures such as
connecting to a fuse-protected cigar socket of a car.
• Connect the DC plug to the correct location of this instrument.
• Securely connect a cigarette lighter plug or DC plug so it does not come loose.
• If an abnormal condition occurs, immediately turn off the instrument, and unplug the DC
power cable from the power supply.
• Do not bend the base of a cigarette lighter plug or the base of a DC plug.
• Do not bend or twist the DC power cable.
• Do not wrap the DC power cable around the instrument.
• Do not use the instrument with the DC power cable in a bundled condition.
• Do not allow the DC power cable to be caught in doors, shelf doors, and so on.
• Do not modify, process, or repair the DC power cable.
• If the DC power cable is damaged, stop using it, and contact your nearest YOKOGAWA
dealer.
• When carrying the instrument, do not pull on the DC power cable. Hold the instrument
itself.
• Do not bring metallic objects near the metal parts of the DC plug.
• When removing a cigarette lighter plug or DC plug, do not pull the cord.
• When storing the DC power cable, do not bundle it too tightly.
CAUTION
To prevent shorting the power supply, if you are not using the power supply, unplug the DC
power cable.
