14.4 Combination of Data Formats
The RS-232 interface on the GS610 performs communications using start-stop
synchronization. In start-stop synchronization, characters are transmitted one at a time.
Each character consists of a start bit, data bits, a parity bit, and a stop bit (see the
following figure).

Handling of Break Signals
When a break signal is transmitted from a PC, the GS610 behaves in the same fashion
as when a GP-IB device clear is received.
