CHECKING THE REAR BRAKE PADS

1. Remove:

• rear wheels

Refer to “FRONT AND REAR WHEELS” in
chapter 8.

2. Check:

• brake pads

Wear indicator groove

almost disap-

peared

→

Replace the brake pads as a set.

Refer to “FRONT AND REAR BRAKES” in
chapter 8.

3. Operate the brake lever or brake pedal.
4. Install:

• rear wheels

Refer to “FRONT AND REAR WHEELS” in
chapter 8.

Brake pad wear limit

1.0 mm (0.04 in)

CHECKING THE REAR BRAKE HOSE
PROTECTORS

1. Remove:

• rear wheels

Refer to “FRONT AND REAR WHEELS” in
chapter 8.

2. Check:

• rear brake hose protectors

Wear indicator

becomes visible

→

Replace the rear brake hose protector.
Refer to “REAR KNUCKLES AND STABI-
LIZER” in chapter 8.

3. Install:

• rear wheels

Refer to “FRONT AND REAR WHEELS” in
chapter 8.
