Crankcase

Assembling the crankshaft

Install a new ball bearing

into the

crankshaft using a press, then install the
circlip.

Do not reuse the ball bearing, always
replace it with a new one.

Install the main bearings

and circlips

onto the crankshaft journal.

NOTE:

Face the embossed “YAMAHA” mark

the connecting rod in the same direction as
the “UP” mark

on the piston.

Install the set with the identification mark in
the direction indicated in the removal proce-
dure.

Use the special service tool

to install the

needle bearings.

Always use new piston pin clips.

Be sure to align the piston pin clip end with
the piston pin slot

Install the 2nd piston ring

and top pis-

ton ring

onto the pistons.
