3.22 Fax and Copy Operations
Receiving Automatically in FAX
Mode
Your machine is preset to FAX mode at the factory. If you
have changed the fax mode, take the following steps to
receive faxes automatically:

Press and hold down the Rcv. Mode/Contrast button
until the mode changes, release the button. Repeatedly
press the
Rcv. Mode/Contrast button until the display
shows “FAX,” then press the Start/Enter button.

When you receive a call, the machine answers the call
on the specified number of rings and receives a fax
automatically. To change the number of rings. See
“Setting User-Selectable Features” on page 3.5.
To adjust the ringer volume, see “Setting Volume” on
page 3.2.
Receiving in AUTO Mode

Press and hold down the Rcv. Mode/Contrast button
until the mode changes, release the button. Repeatedly
press the
Rcv. Mode/Contrast button until the display
shows “AUTO,” then press the Start/Enter button.

When a call comes in, the machine answers on the
selected ring count. If a fax tone is sensed, the machine
receives the fax automatically.
