Operation
2.5.4 Manual operation
CAUTION:
The manual operation mode is used to start the
boiler only if heating demand from the external heating
control system (modular energy system, MES) fails. All
heating components (pumps, valves, and mixers) need to be
started manually. Please follow the methods suggested in
the controller manual. If the external control system (MES)
does not allow the manual start of the boiler system, then
the manual operation mode must not be used. Manual ope-
ration mode should only be used for short periods of time
(e.g., over weekends or holidays). The continuous use of the
manual operation mode can lead to corrosion of the heat
exchanger and will result in the loss of the warranty!

Pressing one of the six buttons turns on the lighting and
display. Manual operation starts if the
manual operation /

button is pressed for more than
five seconds – Fig. 13. This sets the boiler temperature to
the setpoint fixed for manual operation (standard value
140 °F / 60 °C). The current automatic setting is not affec-
ted by this. The lighting is turned off after the lighting timer
has counted down (10 min.); the function or display remains
unchanged.
Pressing the
Cancel
button terminates the function –
Fig. 14. The boiler returns to automatic operation.
