– Attach the two terminals prepared in the previous step to front panel power switch SW1.
One lead should be connected to the center terminal, and the other to either of the outside
terminals.
– Prepare a 17-inch long #16 white stranded wire. Attach quick-disconnect terminals to each
end of the wire.
– Attach one end of the white wire prepared in the previous step to the neutral output
terminal of ac line filter FL1 . Attach the other end to AC-N1 (AC neutral from F1) post on
the AM tuner PWB. Confirm that the white wires on the Line and Load ends are on the
same side of the component.
– Use tie-wraps to organize and clean-up the power supply wiring in and around the AM
tuner PWB. Six tie-wraps should suffice.
The primary power connections have now been made. Recheck your work.
5.3.12 PWB Interconnections
In the following steps the necessary connections will be made between the AM and FM tuner
PWBs.
– Cut a 12-inch long #22 red wire. Attach a spade terminal to one end of the wire. Connect
to the #1 terminal on the AM tuner PWB barrier strip. Bend the barrel up slightly to
facilitate installation of the terminal.
– Cut a 12-inch long #22 black wire. Attach a spade terminal to one end of the wire.
Connect to the #2 terminal on the AM tuner PWB barrier strip. Bend the barrel up slightly
to facilitate installation of the terminal.
– Cut a 12-inch long #18 green wire. Attach a spade terminal to one end of the wire.
Connect to the #3 terminal on the AM tuner PWB barrier strip. Bend the barrel up slightly
to facilitate installation of the terminal.
– Cut a 12-inch long #18 green wire. Attach a spade terminal to one end of the wire.
Connect to the #4 terminal on the AM tuner PWB barrier strip. Bend the barrel up slightly
to facilitate installation of the terminal.
– Twist the two green wires together.
