AM/FM Stereo Tuner

– Install a quick-disconnect connector on each white wire. Twist the wires together. 

Connect one wire to the 

AC-N3

 terminal on the AM tuner PWB. Connect the other wire to 

the 

AC-H5

 terminal on the AM tuner PWB.

– Find the 8-pin tube socket set aside previously. Make the following connections to the 

socket:

1) Prepare an 8-inch #22 green wire. Connect to pin 2 on the socket. Solder.

2) Prepare an 8-inch #22 green wire. Connect to pin 7 on the socket. Solder.

3) Prepare a 10-inch #22 yellow wire. Connect to pin 5 on the socket. Solder.

4) Prepare an 11-inch #22 red wire. Connect to pin 6 on the socket. Solder.

5) Prepare an 11-inch #22 white wire. Connect to pin 3 on the socket. Solder.

6) Prepare a 10-inch #22 black wire. Connect to pin 8 on the socket. Solder.

– Place short pieces of small heat-shrink tubing over each wire and push town to cover the 

socket terminals. Process with the heat gun.

– Twist the green wires together. Cut one 4-inch piece of small-sized expandable sleeving 

and two pieces of heat-shrink tubing, each about 3/4-inch long. Feed the sleeving onto the 

leads from the 8-pin socket. Stretch the sleeving to its full length. Place one piece of heat-

shrink tubing on each end of the sleeving. Process with the heat gun. Be careful to focus 

the heat on the heat-shrink tubing, not the sleeving (which may melt if exposed to too 

much heat).

– Install the socket onto V6, the 6E5C tuning indicator. Place the tube in the mounting 

bracket. Orientation of the device is not critical at this point.

– Install quick-disconnect connectors on each of the wires from the 8-pin socket. Connect 

the wires as follows to the terminals on the AM tuner PWB:

Green wire to
