2. General safety
instructions / For your
own safety
The machine has been designed and con-
structed according to the current state of
the art and the accepted technical safety
standards. It has been electrically tested
and satisfies the European safety stan-
dards, and is fitted with various circuit bre-
akers which serve as safety devices.
Nevertheless, dangers can arise, particular-
ly in cases of incorrect use or non-compli-
ance with the specifications and the informa-
tion given in these operating instructions.
2.1 Sources of danger
Electrical voltage / Electric current /
Warning: Danger to Life
Before carrying out any work on the electri-
cal installations, the cable between batte-
ries and machine must be disconnected.
E-Model:
If there is any contact with volta-
ge or current, there is a danger of electric
shock that could lead to severe burning or
even death. Never touch damaged cables.
Always switch off the machine and discon-
nect it from the mains supply before carry-
ing out any work on the electrical installa-
tions. Replace defective cables immediately.
Moving parts and machinery
Warning:
There is a danger of injury from
the movement of the machine and around
the brushese whilst rotating. Do not reach
into the brushes with your hand or place
your feet in them.
Avoid any contact with articles of clothing or
your hair.
Other dangers
Warning:
There is a danger of injury or burns
if the poles of the battery are short-circuited
by hand or by using conducting objects.
2.2 Improper use
Any use of the machine that is not descri-
bed in «Prescribed Usage» or that has not
been agreed contractually is impermissible.
Operation of the machine in a technically
unserviceable condition or in disregard of
the following regulations is forbidden:
– Protective devices must not be removed
or bypassed.
– Conversions and modifications to the
product are not permitted.
– The right to make claims under the gua-
rantee will become void if the machine is
damaged as a result of the non-obser-
vance of these instructions, improper
use or usage other than that for which it
was designed. Wetrok accepts no liabi-
lity for any consequential damage.
E-Model:
– Defective mains power connection lines
may only be replaced by PVC-sheathed
flexible cable 3x1 mm
2
H05 VV-F accor-
ding to DIN 58281 / VDE 0281.
– The connections to the mains supply
must be protected against spray.
– The machine must be fused with either a
circuit breaker of type H or a safety fuse.
2.3 Organisational points
It is the responsibility of the operator to
ensure that:
– the machine will only be used by per-
sons who have been instructed in its
handling and who have been expressly
authorised to use it,
– the recognized occupational safety rules
are observed
– any further national or company-internal
regulations are observed
– all users are acquainted with the safety
regulations and have been trained in the
use of the specific machine with the
specific product
– all users have read and understood the
operating instructions before using the
machine.
– the responsibilities for the operation, main-
tenance and repair of the machine have
been clearly assigned and are observed.
– faults and damage will be immediately
reported to the Wetrok Service Agent
2.4 Emergencies / In case of
emergency:
– Immediately apply first aid measures.
E-Model:
– Pull out the mains plug.
– Following any incident, do not put the
machine back into operation before it
has been checked by Wetrok.
2.5 Before commissioning /
Putting in to operation for the first
time
– The delivery, the instruction regarding
the safety regulations, the handling and
maintenance, and the initial commissio-
ning are normally carried out by a speci-
alist authorised by Wetrok.
– If this is not the case, the operator will be
responsible for the instruction of the
users.
B-Model:
A new battery will only reach its full perfor-
mance after it has been charged and dis-
charged 5 to 10 times. A significantly redu-
ced operating period after recharging indi-
cates that the battery is spent, and will have
to be replaced.
Safe working with the unit is only possible if
you have read both the operating instruc-
tions and the safety instructions in full, and
strictly follow the instructions given in them.
Safety regulations for the operation and
maintenance are listed in the respective
chapters, and must be followed absolutely!
Also observe the safety instructions given
by the pictograms on the machine.
3. Operation /Application tips
Depending on the model and the equip-
ment present, the operation of your unit can
differ in detail from the standard operation
described here.
3.1 Safety regulations
– Always check the machine before use.
Have any damage repaired by a specialist.
– Before use, the tank (D2) and the tank
cover (D1) must be closed and locked.
– When travelling in lifts and on gradients:
– Switch off the main key switch (B5)
– Secure the machine
– Lower the brushes or pads to prevent
the machine rolling away.
NOTE:
Only lower the brushes when the main key
switch (B5) is at OFF.
The main key switch (B5) may only be retur-
ned to ON when the brush housing is once
again located in the upper position.
– During operation, caution should be
exercised with respect to third parties,
especially children.
– To avoid injuries, wear sturdy footwear.
– When cleaning and servicing the machi-
ne, changing parts or removing any wor-
king elements, switch off the drive (A-
model) and remove the key from the
main switch.
– Only use original Wetrok attachments.
– The machine must not be used on gra-
dients of more than 2%.
– When leaving the machine, secure it
against unintentional movement. Re-
move the key from the main switch.
– Before working on electrical installations,
the cable between the batteries and the
machine must be disconnected.
– In the E-model, also disconnect the
mains plug.
– It is forbidden to block the drive lever (A-
model).
E-model:
– The machine may only be used if the
mains supply lines are in a faultless con-
dition.
WARNING:
(E-model):
Do not damage the mains connection lines
by driving over them, by crushing or pulling at
them or by similar actions. There is the dan-
