The user may re-configure the alarm type, the map and the mask of each Field Diagnostic bit according
the application and control strategy where the ICoT will take part. In order to do that, the user may
change the ICoT’s initial parameters values shown in the
Table 22:
Pre-instantiated blocks, default block tags, VFD indexes and descriptions
Field Diagnostic Alarm Priority
According the Reference (FOUNDATION™ Specification, Field Diagnostics Profile – FF-912, Rev 1.0), the
default value of the parameters related to the alarm priority (FD_FAIL_PRI, FD_OFFSPEC_PRI,
FD_MAINT_PRI and FD_CHECK_PRI) must be zero. When the value of these parameters is zero, even if
a diagnostic bit is active, the related alarm type (FD_FAIL_ALM, FD_OFFSPEC_ALM, FD_MAINT_ALM or
FD_CHECK_ALM) won´t be activated.
The user has to configure the alarm priority parameters with a value equal or bigger than 1 to be
possible to activate the related alarm type. When the alarm priority parameters are configured with a
value equal or bigger than 2, the related alarm type will activated and will send alarm reports to the
host via FF bus.
Recommended Actions
Field Diagnostic Bits in ICoTshows that for each active bit, there is a related recommended
action value.
This feature (recommended actions table) is currently not available. It will be available
in the future revisions of the ICoT FF
. For recommended actions and troubleshooting please see
Section 9.2 (Troubleshooting). These values are used by the ICoT EDD help to provide to the user more
details about the diagnosed ICoT current condition or error, and descriptions of recommended actions
to be followed.
