Calibration and Configuration: Using the EDD User Interface
The ICoT FF has been developed to meet the latest FF specifications and technologies and among many other
advantages, it provides an enhanced device description (EDD) files that support functional information,
such as menus and methods.
These menus and methods provide similar functionalities as the ones described in Section 8.9 (Calibration and
Configuration) and more additional functionalities, via software tools implemented for host systems in PCs or
handhelds.
Section 11.5 (Device Description) presents more information about the FF Device Description technology, presents
a basic menu tree diagram implemented in the ICoT EDD files (Section 11.5.1) and how to install or import EDD files
in different host systems.
NOTE:
Differently of other technologies, the EDD menus rendering is responsibility of the host systems.
Therefore the figures related to the EDD menus of the ICoT shown in the next sections can present
different aspects in different host systems. These figures shown in the next sections were made using the
DeltaV system (version 11.3).
The next picture shows an example of how a host system can present the Device Identification menu
page of the ICoT
.
