AO (Analog Output) channels
The analog output channels will control physical outputs according to the Transducer block configuration.
shows the channels that are available for the AO block:
Table 10:
Available channels for the AO blocks
Channel
Channel Name
Description
0
Uninitialized
Default value for AO
1
Position
Drives the valve to the specified setpoint
position
Optionally, to enable the BKCAL_OUT parameter to report the actual position, the
IO_OPTS
parameter
“
PV for BKCal_Out”
must be set to ‘1’. Notice the AO block mode must be OOS before modifying
IO_OPTS. In this way, the BKCAL_OUT will publish the position feedback according to the READBACK
parameter.
When using the ICoT, the Analog Output units of measure must be % (of full span valve position).
See a configuration example of AO scaling as shown in
Table 11:
AO Scaling
Process Value Scale (PV_SCALE)
Transducer Scale (XD_SCALE)
EU at 100% (EU_100) = 100
EU at 100% (EU_100) = 100
EU at 0% (EU_0) = 0
EU at 0% (EU_0) = 0
Units Index (UNITS_INDEX) = %
Units Index (UNITS_INDEX) = %
Decimal (DECIMAL) = 3
Decimal (DECIMAL) = 3
The parameter
SHED_OPT
(that defines action to be taken on remote control device timeout) must also
be configured, for instance, to the option “NormalShed_NormalReturn”.
See Section 11.4.5 for the complete list of the Analog Output function block parameters, including default
values.
