Operation
Resistance Measurements
Caution! Under no circumstances conduct resistance measure-
ments on voltage carrying circuitry! To avoid incorrect results,
make sure that capacitors are discharged before measurements
are taken.
1. Connect the black measuring cable to the COM jack (9) and
the red measuring cable to the input jack (10).
2. Set the rotary function switch (13) to the Ω position.
3. Use the range switch key RAN (7) to select auto range mode
or manual range mode.
4. Connect the measuring tips to the ends of the resistor or circuit
to be measured.
5. Read the resistance value from the display
Notes:
ƒ
If the overload indicator “
OL
” is shown on the display in manual
range mode, the measurement has exceeded the range. In
this case, select a higher range.
ƒ When the input is open and the measuring tips have not been
connected to the resistor, the overload indicator “
OL
” appears
on the display.
ƒ When measuring resistors >1 M Ω , it can take several seconds
before a stable value is reached.
ƒ Keep the measuring tips clean to ensure a proper electric
connection.
