Select a range of 100 meters (300 feet) for
Sonar A.
Adjust RV5 for Light Noise on the screen. Light Noise is
defi ned as light blue and green speckles (dots or snow) on
the screen. Some speckles may be red in color.
Check Receiver Gain by rotating Far Gain fully clockwise
to 100. The Light Noise will increase in color with more
red. Red Noise should total less than 40 percent of the noisy
area. If there is too much red, back-off on RV5 slightly.

POWER SUPPLY FREQUENCY
ADJUSTMENT
(CONSOLE)
This last adjustment is to verify that the power supply in the
sonar does not interfere with targets:
Set
Sonar A
for:
Pulse width -
0 (zero) percent
TVG
-
200
Near Gain -
100
Far Gain -
75, Light Noise
Range
-
200
meters
Adjust RV1, Power Supply Frequency, for the least amount
of noise on the screen.
Keep this adjustment between the 2
to 5 o'clock position.
Power Supply Noise looks like spokes
on the outer edge of the screen. If Power Supply Noise was
reduced by adjusting RV1, then repeat Step 4.0 above.
This completes the Calibration Procedure of the HD800
Sonar. You will fi nd that a well-tuned sonar will give you
the advantage and performance unmatched by other sonars.
