Cruise Control Button
Momentarily press the “CRUISE” button to engage cruise control. The green “CRUISE” LED
is lit when cruise control is selected.
In cruise control, the M-750 automatically applies power or regenerative braking as
necessary to maintain speed at the rate selected when cruise control is engaged. If the
grade is too steep for the M-750 to maintain the set speed, cruise control remains engaged,
returning the M-750 to the set speed when the grade levels off.
You may toggle between Economy and Turbo modes while cruise control is engaged. Cruise
control will attempt to maintain the set speed using the power available in the selected
mode. If the throttle is depressed while cruise control is engaged, the speed will increase
but return to the set speed when the throttle is released.
To disengage cruise control, apply either brake, or press the “CRUISE” button. Cruise
control will be deactivated immediately.
Throttle
The throttle is located on the right side of your handlebar (see Figure 11). Press the throttle
with your thumb to control the speed of the motor, and hence, the speed of the M-750.
Releasing the throttle or applying the left or right brake lever cuts off (deactivates) the
motor.
NOTE: After applying the brakes, the throttle is deactivated until it is fully
released.
Gears and Shifting
The gears are activated by cables that connect the twist shifters (located on the handlebar)
to the derailleurs. The left shifter grip controls the front derailleur and the right shifter grip
controls the rear derailleur. To shift, pedal at a steady pace while operating the shifters and
engage the gear you find most comfortable. Gear shifting affects only the force (torque)
that the rider inputs to the pedal on the bicycle. Shift into a low gear for easier acceleration
or hill climbing. Shift into a higher gear for pedaling at higher speeds.
NOTE: The derailleur/gear system operates independently of the motor. The
use of the derailleur gears has no effect on the function (power or speed) of
the motor.
CAUTION:
NEVER PEDAL BACKWARD WHILE SHIFTING GEARS AND NEVER
FORCE THE TWIST GRIP SHIFTERS. ALWAYS PEDAL WITH LIGHT OR MODERATE
PRESSURE WHILE SHIFTING.
