Operation
Before You Ride
Make sure all of your quick releases are locked and secure. Make sure all parts,
components, and accessories are in good working order.
WARNING:
DO NOT RIDE THE BICYCLE WITHOUT ALL QUICK RELEASES
SECURELY LOCKED! OTHERWISE YOU RISK SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
Wheels
Make sure that the quick releases on the front and rear wheels are tightened properly.
Wheels should be centered in front fork or rear dropouts. Wheels should be checked
regularly for spoke tightness and rim alignment. Wheels should rotate smoothly without
wobbling from side to side. Check the bearing play of the hubs by lifting the bicycle and
spinning the wheel. The rear wheel will turn with light resistance due to the
electro-magnetic properties of the motor but it should not be significant. To check the play
of the hubs, try to move the rim from side to side between the forks. No lateral play should
exist. If you detect play or if the wheel is difficult to turn, the hub bearings must be
replaced. If you hear any irregular noise from the wheels or the brakes, the wheels should
be checked and repaired. Please contact a local TidalForce dealer to have the hub bearings
replaced.
Rims
The rims must be smooth and without cracks, breaks or bulges. If you notice any
abnormality in the rims, please have it serviced immediately.
CAUTION:
DO NOT RIDE THE M-750 WITH DAMAGED RIMS.
Spokes
Check spoke tension regularly. Approximately the same tension should be applied to all
spokes. If a spoke is broken or loose, take your M-750 to a local TidalForce dealer for
repair or replacement.
WARNING:
RIDING WITH LOOSE SPOKES MAY CAUSE THE WHEEL TO FAIL
RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
Tires
The M-750 has been upgraded with thorn resistant tires and tubes to help prevent
punctures. Make sure that the tires are inflated according to the pressure indicated on the
tire sidewall. Tire pressure should not exceed what is indicated on the sidewall. Improper
tire pressure will make riding more difficult, and will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce range under
electric power. The tire should be properly seated in the rim and the fitting of the tire bead
and rim bead should be checked. If the tube is pinched between the tire and the rim, it will
fail when inflated. Ensure that the tire is not cracked or unevenly worn. Check for bulges.
