Batteries
Use of any battery other than a battery supplied by WaveCrest Laboratories with
your TidalForce High Performance Electric Bike may damage the motor and
electrical system, and will void your warranty. Please contact WaveCrest
Laboratories Customer Service Department for further information.
It is recommended that you plug your bike into the charger when not in use. This will
ensure that the bike has a full charge each time you want to ride it. It will also ensure
maximum performance. Over time (two to three years), the battery will lose some of its
charging capacity. This will become apparent when one or more of the higher-ranking
state-of-charge Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) on the Dash fails to illuminate after an
extended charging cycle (refer to “State-of-Charge LED Displays” on page 27 for charge
schedule). This is normal battery behavior.
NOTE: Due to the battery’s cell chemistry, extreme cold weather
temperatures (0
°
C or 32
°
F and below) may hinder the battery’s full operating
capacity. If the battery is stored in cold weather temperatures, bring into normal
room temperature for several hours before use. If battery problems occur due to
cold weather while operating the bike, riding in non-turbo or economy mode may
support battery’s performance. Battery will return to full power in warmer
temperatures.
WARNING:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN OR TAMPER WITH THE BATTERY IN
ANY WAY. DOING SO WILL CAUSE CHEMICAL, ELECTRICAL AND/OR FIRE
HAZARDS AND VOID THE WARRANTY.
Safety Responsibilities
1.
Always wear your helmet. This is required by law in some states and is an
important precaution in all states. Always use a helmet that fits and is approved for
such use. Keep the chinstrap fastened.
2.
Only one rider at a time. Riding double, or carrying large objects that obstruct
your vision or interfere with your control of the bicycle, can result in loss of control.
3.
Always ride with traffic and obey all traffic laws.
4.
Do not perform tricks or stunts. Maintain complete control, caution and a
reasonable speed at all times. This bicycle is not suited for stunt jumping,
competition or racing. Never hitch onto other vehicles.
5.
When riding at night or in inclement weather, always use lights that are bright and
in good working order. Use a clear light on the front and a red light on the back.
Wear light colored and/or reflective clothing. Assume motorists are unable to see
you and ride in a very defensive, cautious manner.
6.
Do not remove any reflectors that come on the bike. Make sure that your bike
is always equipped with the following reflectors: one on each wheel, one on the seat
post, one on the handlebar, and one on each side of each pedal (total four on
pedals).
7.
Always take special precautions when riding in the rain, ice or snow. Give
yourself more time and room to brake. Ride slower than normal in order to maintain
