Rear Wheel Adjustment
CAUTION:
DO NOT RIDE WITH TIRES THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY INFLATED.
TIRE SHOULD BE INFLATED TO THE PRESSURE INDICATED ON THE TIRE
SIDEWALL.
1.
Ensure that the rear tire is properly inflated.
2.
Visually check to make sure that the sides of the rear tire are evenly spaced between
the frame arms.
3.
Squeeze the rear brake lever tightly a few times and visually check the brake pads to
ensure that they will contact the rim and not the tire. Adjust as necessary (refer to
“Adjusting the Brakes” on page 33 for instructions on that).
4.
Ensure that the rear cable connector wraps are installed tightly to protect the cables
and prevent an accidental disconnect or rubbing.
Pedal Assembly
The pedals have different threads based on which crank arm they should be connected to.
The pedals are marked with “L” for left and “R” for right. Left and right are determined
from the riding position on the bicycle.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TRY TO FORCE THE WRONG PEDAL ONTO THE CRANK
ARM, AS IT WILL STRIP THE THREADS IN THE CRANK ARM.
Align the pedal axle with the threaded hole in it’s respective crank arm. Apply a drop of oil
or light grease to the threads of the pedal and secure the pedal in the crank by hand. The
right pedal is installed by turning the pedal axle clockwise and the left pedal is installed by
turning the pedal axle counter-clockwise.
After the pedals can no longer be turned by hand, use the 15mm wrench included in your
tool kit and tighten the pedals securely. The shoulder of each pedal should fit against the
crank arm.
Seat Post Adjustment
The saddle height should be adjusted for the comfort of the rider. The saddle (seat) is
adjusted properly when you can sit on the saddle and with your knee slightly bent
(approximately 15 degrees), and you can rest your foot on the pedal at its lowest point with
the ball of your foot. For extra compactness when folding your M-750, be sure to lower the
saddle all the way down.
1.
Open the seat post quick release as shown in Figure 4 on page 10 and raise or lower
the seat post to your desired height.
CAUTION:
USE EXTREME CARE WHEN OPERATING QUICK RELEASE LEVERS.
YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY DEPENDS ON PROPER AND SECURE OPERATION OF THE
QUICK RELEASE LEVERS.
2.
Close the seat post quick release below the saddle. The seat post cannot be rotated
in the frame if it is tightened properly.
