Chapter 5 Machine Inspections

Before leaving the factory, each Watkiss BookMaster and TrimMaster is
systematically checked and tested. The inspection schedules listed in this
section should be used as indicated before a machine is installed at a
customer’s premises.

Pre-Delivery Inspections

Every machine will have completed tests prior to shipping. These therefore
require only visual and running checks prior to installation at a customer’s
premises. Pre-Delivery Inspection sheets are provided for this purpose.

After-Build Inspections

Machines which have undergone major service work since leaving the factory
may require more complete tests. The After-Build Inspection sheets are pro-
vided for this purpose. These inspections include online running with a
Watkiss Vario collator, but can also be conducted offline. TrimMaster Pro
inspections require connection to a BookMaster Pro.

Inspection should only be conducted by Watkiss-trained engineers. The
inspection sheets in this section may be printed or photocopied for this purpose
and we recommend that a copy of each machine inspection is kept for your
records.

Before starting the inspections, ensure that an adequate supply of paper is
available. Ideally this should be A4 and A3 which has been checked for accu-
racy and squareness of cut.
