8. When the blade/rollers are aligned, rotate the flywheel anti-clockwise so
that the fold blade is reset into its parked position and the alignment rules
are ejected from the rollers.
9. Replace the three nylon washers on the upper pulley shaft and then replace
the drive belt guard.
10. Replace the side and back covers.
3.2.9 Fold Blade Replacement
The fold blade is used as the datum for squaring the BookMaster unit, so if
damage has occurred requiring the blade to be replaced, the unit must be
checked for squareness afterwards.
Procedure
1. Set the fold axis to 240mm on the BMP (or to maximum on the BMS).
2. Switch off and disconnect from the mains power supply.
3. Remove the back panel, L/H and R/H side panels and the fold latch cover
panel.
4. Remove the four M5 button head screws which secure the paper catch wire
frame to the sides and then remove the assembly.
5. With one hand, release the fold clutch by pulling the latch outwards. At the
same time rotate the flywheel anti-clockwise with your other hand to move
the blade forward. Looking down into the BookMaster infeed, set the
blade to its most forward position.
6. The fold blade is fixed to the fold blade mounting bar with four M5 cap
head screws and one M5 button head screw in the centre. Access to these
screws is now possible from inside the fold latch area. Using 4mm and
3mm allen keys, undo the screws and remove the blade from the machine
by sliding it out through the aperture in the R/H side.
7. Replacement of the fold blade is the reverse of removal.
8. Check the BookMaster for squareness (see section 3.2.11 ‘‘Squaring Up
Procedure’’).
3.2.10 Fold Blade Clutch Replacement
Procedure - Removal
1. Remove the rear cover (5 x M5 button screws).
2. Switch off and disconnect from the mains supply. Remove the mains input
lead and wheel the BookMaster into sufficient working space.
