Scraper bars, located in front of and behind each drum, are used to
prevent dirt and asphalt from sticking to and accumulating on the drum
surface.
These scrapers are spring loaded. They may be set in the travel
position

(a)

or the scraping position

(b)

by flipping the bar up or down.
