Removing the Muffler

Prerequisites

Engine cool

Procedure

Follow the procedure below to remove the muffler.

1. Disconnect the spark plug.

2. Remove the fuel tank. See section 

Removing the Fuel Tank

.

3. Remove the screws that secure the outer muffler guard and remove the outer 

muffler guard 

(a)

4. Remove the screw 

(g)

 that secures the generator mounting leg to the shock 

mount bracket.

5. Remove the screw 

(h)

 that secures the ground wire.

6. Remove the screw 

(i)

 that secures the muffler to the stator.

7. Remove the screws 

(b)

 that secure the muffler to the engine.
