Purpose

Selects the range for ac current measurements

<expected value> = 0.01 | 0.1 | 1 | AUTO | DEF | MIN | MAX

*RST Value

DEFault = Autoranging

Query Syntax

[SENSe:]CURRent:AC:RANGe? [<MIN | MAX>]

Query Parameters

<MIN> = Causes the query to report the minimum value (0.01 A)
<MAX> = Causes the query to report the maximum value (1.0 A)

Query Response

0.01 | 0.1 | 1

Description

This command selects the range for ac current measurements. To select a standard
measurement range, specify the

expected value

of the input signal's maximum expected

current. The multimeter then selects the correct range. MINimum selects 0.01 A
(10 mA range) and MAXimum selects 1 A.

This command overrides any setting by a previous CONFigure command specifying the
same function. With the new range, a new resolution is also selected; however, this
resolution is based on the aperture time set by the CONFigure command. Specifying a
fixed range also disables the autorange mode.
