Inspecting Heat Exchanger Anodes

51427

Engines with closed cooling systems have anodes
located at the top of the heat exchanger. This
anode

resembles a bolt and may be removed and

replaced using a 3/4 inch (19mm) wrench. When
installing, tighten the anode all the way by hand, then
turn an additional quarter turn using a wrench.

Engine Alignment

Because of the special tools required, a Volvo Penta
dealer must do the engine alignment. This should be
done during off-season storage preparations.

NOTICE!

Failure to periodically check engine align-

ment may result in premature failure of the engine cou-
pler.
