nection (11) on the GT-6000.
• Connect the safety plug to a 230 V earthed socket. When the
mains voltage is applied, the voltage measurement starts auto-
matically.
• If the external conductor position
(L) of the earthed socket for the
RCCB/PRCD test is not correct,
an error message is displayed for
approx. 2 seconds.
• Insert the portable RCCB/PRCD
into the test socket (1) on the GT-6000.
• Connect the supplied IEC low-power adapter cable to the IEC
connector (10) on the GT-6000.
• Insert the safety plug into the socket on the portable RCCB/
PRCD. The plug must point towards the display with the cable
outlet as shown.
• Press the button (6) to switch the mains voltage to the test socket.
The symbols “rCd” and “rESEt” are displayed.
• Switch on the portable RCCB/PRCD.
• If “rESET” continues to be displayed and the symbols “LN” and “LE” are flashing, check that the portable RCCB/
PRCD is switched on. If it is switched on and the message “IEC Volt Error” appears on the display, turn the safety
plug in the socket of the RCCB/PRCD by 180°. Press the button (6) again to start the test.
• Whenever the “rESEt” symbol appears, switch the portable RCCB/PRCD back on.
• The GT-6000 generates a fault current of 30 mA with positive (0°) or negative (180°) initial polarity. The portable
RCCB/PRCD is tripped and the tripping times of the single rated fault current are measured.
• If the tripping time is less than the limit value (200 ms), a tick symbol is displayed next to the tripping time.
• The GT-6000 then generates a fault current of 150 mA with positive (0°) or negative (180°) initial polarity. The trips
of the portable RCCB/PRCD and the tripping times of the five-fold rated fault current are measured.
• If the tripping time is less than the limit value (40 ms), a tick symbol is displayed
next to the tripping time.
• The test is considered passed if ‘PASS’ is shown on the display.
Some portable RCCB/PRCD types (e.g. PRCD-S, PRCD-K) switch L, N and PE all poles off, so that the
GT-6000 does not detect a connection between the IEC connector (10) and the test socket (1). In that case,
the test must be carried out as for permanently installed RCCBs/RCDs. To do this, plug the portable RCCB/
PRCD into a mains socket that is not protected by any other RCCBs.
