Electrical system
The step
In order to make it easy to get in and out of the vehicle, an electrically extendible and retractable step from Thule
is installed in the entrance area of the sliding door. The tread plate is made of anodised aluminium checker plate.
The tread can be moved with a load of approx. 10 kg to 15 kg and the maximum load is 200 kg.
The step is extended in automatic mode when the sliding door is opened and the vehicle is stationary. After the
sliding door is closed, the step is retracted. Manual retraction and extension via the display and operating unit for
camping equipment with the vehicle stationary is possible at any time.
If, in automatic mode, it is not desired for the step to be extended when opening the sliding door (e.g. the vehicle
is standing next to a high kerb), automatic mode can be deactivated by pressing the “step button” in the dash
panel once before opening the sliding door. Automatic operation can also be deactivated and activated via the
display and operating unit for camping equipment.
