Infotainment
Operation
When the vehicle is locked by folding radio key or driver's door lock, the satellite system is switched off and the
satellite aerial remains extended. The ON/OFF button must be pressed to retract the satellite system. If the
ignition is switched on when the satellite system is extended (12 V signal from the control unit for special
vehicles J608), the satellite aerial is automatically retracted completely.
After approx. 90 seconds, the supply voltage for the satellite aerial, the CI bus converter and for the CAP
converter is switched off by the control unit for special vehicles J608. This safety function is intended to
guarantee that the satellite system is always retracted during driving and cannot be extended when the vehicle is
in motion.
If the energy management shutdown stage is active, the satellite system is automatically retracted for safety
reasons and switched off after 90 seconds. It is not possible to extend the satellite system when the shutdown
stage is active.
The satellite system is operated via the Satellite
system menu of the Infotainment system in the
display and operating unit for camping equipment.
After the satellite system is switched on, it takes about
30 seconds for the CAP converter to start up
completely and for the other operating steps to be
carried out. In the Info menu item, information on the
software version and the Wi-Fi access data can be
read.
In the Satellite system settings menu, the satellite
aerial can be extended and retracted.
The satellite aerial automatically aligns itself to the
previously selected satellite after it has been
extended. The current status is displayed in the display
and operating unit for camping equipment (selected
satellite, travel status and signal strength).
The movement of the satellite aerial can be stopped at
any time by pressing the Stop button. A different
satellite can be selected using the Satellite button.
