7.5 Image Display Errors
Error / Fault Possible Causes Remedy
All images are dis-
played in black and
white instead of in col-
our. 1. The images were recorded
in black and white.
2. The graphics card in the
PC is configured for only
256 colours.
1. Change the configuration of the picture stor-
age device using the SmartTel Receiver soft-
ware.
2. Set the graphics card in the PC to more than
256 colours.
Pixel errors appear in
the images, individual
or multiple coloured
dots. 1. Faulty or incorrect graph-
ics driver.
2. The image archiving
device is defective.
1. Set the graphics card to a different colour
depth (16 bit, 24 bit, 32 bit, true colour) until
the coloured dots disappear.
2. Use a different or a newer graphics driver.
3. Use a different graphics card.
4. Contact your dealer to have the image archiv-
ing device inspected.
The displayed images
consist of coloured rec-
tangles. The image archiving device
is defective. Consult your dealer.
The images displayed
are too light or too
dark. 1. The PC monitor is incor-
rectly configured.
2. The camera signals from
the cameras connected to
the image archiving
device are too strong or
too weak.
3. The brightness and con-
trast settings, etc. are
inappropriate.
1. Correct the settings of your PC monitor.
2. Use different cameras or correct the signals
using appropriate wiring, different cables, etc.
3. Check the configuration of the image archiv-
ing device, particularly with regard to the
video inputs.
