5 Functional description
In this chapter, you will find detailed information on all functions of the image
archiving device and its image transmission properties.
The device is configured in SmartTel Receiver software, which is included in
the scope of delivery, and is described there.
The set-up and activation of the functions are only dealt with here to the ex-
tent necessary for a basic understanding of the device.
5.1 Storage Concept
SmartDisc can be used to digitally record up to 4 camera signals. Ring switch-
ing is realised with terminal 10 of the control interface.
Continuous Recording without Storage Subdivision
When SmartDisc is configured without storage subdivision (ring switching),
images are saved chronologically on the hard disk and numbered sequentially
without taking the camera number into account. The control input is not
used. Old images are overwritten automatically.
Automatic recording stop
The function Overwrite protection prevents existing image data from being
overwritten.
When the storage warning threshold, which can be set in percent, is reached,
this is indicated by means of the ERR LED. The device can also be configured
such that a relay signals the fact that the storage capacity is nearly exhausted
to another system, or such that a connection is automatically established with
the receiver software so that the hard disk can be replaced.
