5.5. Load Segments
The load segments are sets of receptacles that can be controlled by management software or through the display; they
provide an orderly shutdown and start-up of your equipment. For example, during a power outage, you can keep critical
equipment running while you turn off other equipment. This feature allows you to save battery power.
Each UPS has two load segments:
Load segment 1: can be turned off and be set concerning battery power voltage (chosen for the less important load)
by LCD display.
Load segment 2: chosen for critical and therefore important load.
See section «Rear Covers» on page 35 for the load segments of each UPS model.
5.6. UPSilon2000 Power Management Software
Each UPS is delivered with the UPSilon2000 Power Management Software. For installation of this software, refer to the
instructions accompanying the software CD.
NOTE
: Install UPSilon2000 Power Management Software with the serial number noted on CD cover. When running
the monitor software, choose the appropriate communication port. If using RS232, choose COM1/2 and Megatec
protocol for network management. If using USB, choose the Megatec USB.
UPSilon2000 software provides up-to-date graphics of UPS power, system data and power flow. It also gives you a complete
record of critical power events, and it notifies you of important information about UPS or power. If there is a power outage
and the UPS battery becomes low, UPSilon2000 software can shut down your computer system automatically in order to
protect your data before the UPS shutdown occurs.
