WEAR ON THE WALLS

Cuts

Damage due to knocks

Wear patterns on the walls

The wall is damaged from the outside to the inside, which 
may have damaged the tyre body.

Possible cause

Remedy

Cuts due to a sharp object.

Change the tyre, because the damaged wall may cause 
a burst tyre after it has been pumped up.

Initial internal damage to the tyre due to a heavy knock 
that has resulted in separation of the tyre, which has 
resulted in a lump on the wall.

Possible cause

Remedy

A knock against a sharp edge on a stone, kerb or hole in 
the road.

Change the tyre, because the damaged wall may cause 
a burst tyre after it has been pumped up.

The wall contains areas with excessive wear.

Possible cause

Remedy

The tyre touches other parts of the vehicle whilst driving. Check the play.

Incorrect type of tyre.

Check the tyre sizes.

Wrong type of rim (in particular, ET values).

Check the tyre sizes.

The tyre often comes into contact with the kerb or guide 
rails.

Instruct the driver.
