Realtime Clock
The
VideoJet X.21/G.703
devices have a battery-backed real-
time clock that is set to MEZ at the factory. Readjustment may be
necessary, e.g. if the device is to be operated in a different time
zone or if you want more precise adjustment to your PC clock.
This last action can be performed by clicking on the “Set” button
that transfers the date and time of your PC to the connected

device.
Allocating a
Device Name
In addition to allocating a name to the camera, a name can also be
given to the device. The name could describe the location of the
device or the type of application of the device, to give two possible
examples.
If insertion of the camera name in the video picture has been acti-
vated on the dialog page “Camera”, the device name allocated here
is displayed together with the name of the camera, separated by a
colon, in the live picture.
Device Number
(ID)
A number can be allocated for automatic identification of linked

devices which is read out and checked
as soon as a connection has been established, for example. With
this ID, automatic assignment of incoming alarm calls to the receiv-
ing end is possible. This is an advantage, for example, when
devices are operated at different locations.
The device number must only contain numbers and must be no
more than 12 digits long. The configured ID is stored in the non-vol-
atile memory of the device. The ID can be read out during connec-
tion without logging on, even if password protection is activated.
Version Display
Here, the current version numbers of the hardware and software
are displayed. The hardware number comprises an ID for the
device type, a unique hardware serial number and a revision
number. The firmware number displays the firmware version in the
lower part of the picture. These numbers must be quoted whenever
information about the device is sought.
