Connecting External Sensors and
Controlling Peripheral Devices
VideoJet X.21/G.703
is equipped with an alarm input to be
used for external signalling devices, like door contacts or motion
detectors. Switches or contacts can be connected directly without a
separate power supply. The signalling input is located on the two
left pins of the detachable screw terminal.
(1) Alarm Input, positive terminal
(2) Alarm Input, ground terminal
(3) Control Output, Relay
(4) Control Output, Relay

The input is activated by connecting pin1 to pin 2. Triggering of an
alarm may be configured to occur upon closing (=active high) or
opening (=active low) the contact between pin 1 and pin 2. If an
alarm occurs, the output relay (for output actions in
NCTerminal
see
Chapter 5), for example, on the receiving end can be switched or a
text inserted in the picture. For more information about these
options see Chapter 5.
The relay output may be operated interactively, during an active
connection, or automatically to coincide with certain events. The
options available for the relay switching functions can be set on the
configuration page (output actions) of the
NCTerminal
program. For
example, you can configure a local alarm input in such a way that
