Click on the button “Level” to call up the dialog displayed above in
which you can configure the audio level. You must adapt the volume
of the received audio signal to the input sensitivity of the connected
power amplifier. In the same way, you must match the sensitivity of
the audio input to the microphone used or generally to the audio
source. The settings you make are stored in the non-volatile mem-
ory of the device.
Audio transmission can be switched on and off for both transmis-
sion directions independently. You can also configure whether the
VideoJet X.21/G.703
device automatically switches on audio
in the direction transmission as soon as a connection has been
established. Otherwise audio can be switched on later when
required. The bandwidth required for audio transmission is allo-
cated dynamically, so that as soon as audio transmission is
switched off, the data rate previously used for the audio signal is
again occupied by the video. This improves the image quality, espe-
cially for low data rates.
